SO WHAT (How does this apply to us?)

1.    We need to recognize what is w_________ with us

·         We have no hope of winning on our own. “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).” “The wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).”

·         This game of life lasts a certain amount of time, but we have no idea how much time is left on the clock. “Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes (James 4:14).”

2.    We must come to J_________ in a desperate act of faith.

·            Acts 4:12 - “And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12)”.

·            John 14:6 - I am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the father but by me.

3.    We can trust that Jesus will respond to us if we p______________ reach out to Him in faith.

·         Matthew 7:7-8 - Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

·         Matthew 11:28-30 - Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

4.    Our physical healing is not guaranteed, but our s____________ healing is.

·         Isaiah 53:5, “But He was pierced for our offenses, He was crushed for our wrongdoings; The punishment for our well-being was laid upon Him, And by His wounds we are healed.”

·         “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whosoever believes in Him will not perish, but will have everlasting life (John 3:16).”

May we, members of the church of Christ, remember that we are always in desperate need of Jesus.

May we also have compassion for the sick and desperate people around us, and participate with the Holy Spirit in faith, bringing the good news of what Jesus can do for them.
