I.                   JESUS PROVIDES AN OVERVIEW                                                                                                   John 15:25-26

When the Holy Spirit arrives:

1.      It will be part of God’s intentional, p___________ plan.

2.      He will indwell believers to h_______ them and bring knowledge of t________.

3.      One of His primary roles will be to testify about J_________.

4.      He will empower Jesus’ disciples to t____________ to others about their experiences.

 

II.           JESUS PROVIDES AN EXPLANATION                                                                                          John 16:1-4

1.      V1-2a) The disciples are going to experience d____________ on their spiritual journey.

2.      V2b-3) The perceived moral and spiritual superiority of certain people will make them feel j______________ in carrying out persecution.    

3.      V4) Once Jesus is gone, the target will be placed on the d_______________ back.

 

  III.  JESUS PROVIDES HOPE                                                                                                                            John 16:5-7

1.      V5-6)    E_____________ are affecting the disciples’ ability to comprehend what Jesus was saying.

IV.   THE HOLY SPIRIT PROVIDES POWER                                                                                                John 16:8-15

HOW DOES THIS APPLY TO US

WHAT Jesus taught His disciples:

·         When facing unsettling circumstances, we should operate from a place of k____________,  not e_____________.

·         We should focus on carrying out God’s plan rather than pushing our own a___________.
