Mark 14:26 - The Last Hymn Sing
So What (How do
I apply what I learned)?
Keeping track of what lies ahead of us is just
as important for Christians today, but the context of events has been flipped. We have already been saved, and
now we await its completion. We aren’t
anticipating the death of Jesus, but we are called to anticipate His
return. Our participation in communion
is a remembrance of a prior event, and the celebration of what that
event enabled. But, when we reflect on
such an important event as the death of Jesus, it should also inspire us to
live a certain way now.
When we recognize that someone who was sinless,
sacrificed Himself in such a wonderful way, for underserving people, our words
of appreciation seem hollow, and our acts of service fall short. Worshipping Jesus is the only response that
makes sense.
1.
I should make effective use of the t________ I have left. I should use my remaining time wisely, deepening
my devotion to Jesus and helping others prepare for the future.
2.
I should give g__________ to Jesus because of who He is and what
He has done. I should use God’s word to
help me figure out how to give sacrificially to Him even though He isn’t
physically with me. My actions may seem
strange or even impractical by others, but it is a pleasing aroma to
Christ!
3.
I should verbalize my worship through s____________. It is a creative way to bring things from my
heart and mind out in the open. It is a
a joyous response to who Jesus is, what He has done for me, and what He will do
for me.
