SO WHAT
1.
Discipleship
is a p____________.
It involves someone sharing the message of God’s word through
effective, convincing teaching. Over
time, some number of people will seek to know Jesus, personally and more
fully. Out of that group come spiritual
leaders from a variety of backgrounds, each with unique personalities and
strengths.
2.
Desire
that God and other people call you by a g________ name.
Names and their meanings were important in these
passages. Three times John makes sure to
clearly define what the names of people meant (Rabbi means teacher, Messiah
means Christ, Cephas which means Peter or Rock). Live in such a way that when people hear
your name, they think of someone who loved and followed Jesus closely.
3.
Don’t
be afraid to let people that you have discipled, to grow in their faith under
the tutelage of someone e______.
John the Baptist wasn’t afraid to point out Jesus to his
disciples. That’s because he knew that
they could go on to even greater things by following Jesus rather than himself.
4.
Followers
of Christ should not remain s___________ in ministry.
Prepare yourself and others for the next bigger spiritual role. Be able to distinguish a legitimate, good,
and different ministry, then have the courage to move into it.
